Yes... hundreds of times and under varied conditions - from car-camping (pull up, set up a tent, and relax) to 150 mile wilderness treks to short cattle drives on horseback
I liked ALL of it with the exception of a wonderful 14 day "camping trip" provided by the US Navy... it was called SERE / DEST (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, & Escape / Destert Environment Survial Training)... up in the high-desert of California. We were given Cammies, a jacket and hat, a survival knife, a bic lighter, and extra pair of sox. We build a "pack", "tent" and "sleeping bag" from a piece of parachute... we got a packet of oatmeal each day... it SNOWED !!
After 9 days of hiking through the desert scrub while hiding from "enemy troops"... we were captured and put in a POW camp for 5 days and had the crap beaten out of us !! The lack of food, stress, lack of sleep, and general filth had almost all of us near hallucination, and wondering if this WAS training or if we WERE in a POW camp !!
Yes, as a matter of a fact i have been looking to get my bf to head, he is a metropolis man through and through, but I was raised within the semi-country, and my moms and dads and i used to go camping after I was once younger. I'm not going force him although. As far as academics and classmates, that may be good enough, more like summer camp most effective shorter.
yes but here in Hawaii we camp on the beaches not the woods. so yes i liked it. waking up to waves crashing, cooking breakfast on one of those gas skillets, showering with a portable shower or at the beaches shower,etc..etc.. some people don't call this camping but you do what with you got. we don't watch tv as we don't bring generators, for activites we go fishing, swimming, play around in the sand.
pretty much we just fish and swim all day and we make a bond fire etc etc.. other then the shower and gas skillet we don't really use anything else that technological we keep everything in a coolers and ice. we only camp a few days and when we camp we go with other people like my cousins and their moms and dads etc.. so it's not just my family
we havn't gone camping in idk over 10 years i would say even more.
yes. and i liked it. but you do realize it was camping. no facilities. cooking over an open flame from trees we cut down ourselves. and fish we caught in a real lake. not man made, stocked with fish clones. no electricity, so we actuall had to sit around and talk to each other. lasted about 4 days, then we went home.
