Help me find the ukulele chords to He Mele No Lilo?
The song is called He Mele No Lilo and it's by Mark Keali'i Ho'omalu & Kamehameha Schools Children's Chorus. I can't find the chords anywhere, any help would be appreciated :)
The best place to try would be a local shop, that sells instruments, and gives lessons. They either carry for their students, or are often willing to order sheet music for students, or customers to learn. Local bands also will use local music shops to get sheet music through to add to what they play. As they know that by purchasing it, they're going to be sure of it being complete, and properly scored, to play. Online sources aren't always accurate or reliable for being complete. Especially when they're compared side by side.
The answer is no and yes. You can play guitar chord forms on the ukulele, but you will be playing in a different key than those playing the guitar. The ukulele is tuned to the same intervals as the guitar, so the chord forms played on the guitar will sound beautiful on the ukulele. They will just be in a different key, unlike the mandolin and banjo which have their own fingerings. You can transpose between the uke and guitar by using the alphabet. When you see a guitar C chord and play it on the uke, you are playing the key of F... C, D, E, F. When you play a D guitar form on the uke you are playing in G... D, E, F, G. So when you see music for the guitar, play it on the uke and tell your guitar playing friends that you are playing 5 half steps higher. Or have them put a capo on the 5th fret of their guitar and you can play together with the same chord forms.
