Seeds are basicly not digested in birds, and it passes out with their waste matter (manure), which makes the seeds much easier to grow once the manure on the ground cools off with a bit of rain. Some seeds are also very catchy to the birds feathers and thus gets transported to the distance where they are able to release them.
when they eat and don't digest them well, they poop them out... also if they happen to get stuck on the bird (on their feet and feathers) they later fall off and distribute

mostly in their poop. if you look in the farm lands you will see shrubs and trees growing under power lines and power poles .
