You just do it as what you have done on Windows XP: start -> All program -> accessories -> system tools -> disk defragmenter
I believe that a simple disk defragmentation can help us easily reassemble the files on the hard disk and then make the computer run faster. Good luck to you, too!
The Vista defragger is a pain. I recommend you get the latest Diskeeper for the job, its the most advanced defragger which prevents most fragmentation from occuring. It can be set to run almost invisibly in the background and tackles any little fragmentation occuring in real time. Also defrags with less than 1% free space.

Vista automatically defragments your disk
in the start menu search bar just type disk defragmenter
you can;t actually see anything happening which is very annoying,
You can safely use an alternative defragmenter - Auslogics Disk Defrag is better than Vista's own tool - free here

Just click on
Start
All Programs
Accessories
System Tools
and finally Disk Defragmeter.
My computer, right click on OS C, go to properties then select tools, it's there.
