How do I fix high physical memory usage on my Vista system?
I did google my problem and most people with it have low RAM. My computer has 6 gigs ram and it's still using up 95-98% physical ram running an internet browser and that's it. Checked all spyware, virus, adware stuff and found none. Also defragmented. Have no idea what's wrong. Please help.

Vista uses a process known as "Superfetch". Vista watches your program usage patterns and will preload all of your most used programs into ram on boot up. In theory, this will decrease the load time of your favorite programs. It also increases hard disk activity after boot-up. You can watch this unfold in the resource manager. That's also why it appears you have no free ram. You can kill this service if you want. (start>run>services.msc, stop the Superfetch service and set it to start manually)
This will dramatically cut down on hard disk thrashing on boot and should show the actual amount of free system ram. The trade off being that your apps may start a bit slower.
