Well you can still send email from the Contact List----But it's actually better this way (easier, too).
With Classic Mail
Click on "Compose/New or Forward".
Click directly on the word TO and your mailing list (address book) opens.
Check all the names (addresses) you want to send to and THEN, click the "insert checked contacts".
OR
Just in case you're using, the "All New Mail"---it's a bit different.
Click on "New or Forward".
Click on TO, and your mailing list opens.
Click on ONE name/address---and THEN press and hold down the "ctrl" key while clicking on any other name you want to send to.
Click OK.
In either case, the addresses are inserted and then you just click "Send".
