I've never been able to love myself or think highly of myself, in fact I hate myself or be very indifferent towards myself. I find flaws everywhere from my face, to my body, to my inner self.I hate that I have mental illnesses which I do take medication for but no therapy at the moment. I barely have any friends. My family is crazy. Plus both my father and mother have abused me in some way. I've attempted suicide multiply times because of this. What can i do to fix this?

I have some very good news for you. You do not have a mental illness, rather, you just have some problems with being unhappy. The Bible clearly teaches that all people have full control over their thoughts and actions. By the very definition of mental illness, if someone has a mental illness, then he/she does not have full control over his/her thoughts and actions. So since the Bible is the flawless Word of God, it can be easily seen that there is no such things as mental illnesses. Also, to this day, there has not been even the slightest drop of scientific evidence for the existence of ANY mental illness. It's all just pseudoscience. The cause of so called "mental illnesses" has to do with social conditions and how people react to them. For example, if a young child gets brutally abused at home, chances are, he/she will demonstrate depression, fear, and paranoia. Those are perfectly normal reactions, but psychiatrists label it as mental illness in order to put more money in their pocket. Honestly, anyone who can believe that such a child with such traumatic experiences has a mental illness because he/she is not able to act the same way a child who has loving parents acts is heartless, cruel, and dumb. Since you have had abusive parents, the fact that you are unhappy is NORMAL. I am so sorry that ignorant boneheads have labeled you as mentally ill, overlooking the fact that you have had a hard life.
One major key to loving yourself is to stop believing the lie that you are mentally ill. You are just as mentally capable as anyone else. Most important of all is that if you haven't already, then you need to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Believe that He died and rose again, and accept the free gift of salvation that He has made possible by doing that. Read the parts of the Bible that tell you who you are in Christ. For example, one scripture states that you have the mind of Christ. Another place says that the Spirit of love has cast out all fear and torment. As you learn about His love for you, you will learn in your heart that you are not mentally ill and never have been. My final comment is not for the author of this question. Anyone who would vote down my answer, I say that you are very uncompassionate. I am giving the best and only answer that will bring this young person true healing and victory.
First of all realize that happiness is like fun it is a moment feeling.

Contentment is more what we can dare hope for and that only comes when you do not compare your life and what you have and do, to anyone else's life. You must be content with who you actually are, and what you actually have and what you can do. And that is to be the best YOU that you can be in finding that you will find fulfillment and contentment.
If you notice journals are in museums and have been a way of life for thousands of years.
I wouldn't have a magic reply for you. However, do fully grasp that a few men could no longer have a predicament with you being "thick", chiefly if it used to be "within the correct areas". You would possibly not pay attention from those men even as you are in prime tuition, but if you are on your 20's you could do exactly quality. I wish matters figure out for you. Best desires, - kevin
There is a meditation technique called Loving Kindness meditation. The meditation technique is easily searchable on the internet. Do this towards yourself on a regular basis, this will help you to overcome the self hate that you have.

But to answer your question, you are what you think. Focus more on the positive attributes you do have and work on not having automatic negative thoughts.
