How do I route all my traffic through a specific port?
I am running Ubuntu 11.10 and I would like to route all my traffic (browsers, IM clients, Skype, etc.) all through port 9050. I'm trying to run TOR and encrypt all my traffic and since this is the port it uses, it should make it more anonymous (if this won't work can anyone please give suggestions?).
So how can I route all the traffic on my computer through port 9050?

What you are looking to do is route the traffic through TOR and not just that port, using the port wont help anonymise. You need to change the connection settings of each application to use the TOR software that you have running as a service. All in all though your better off with a proxy or vpn TOR is good but only in the browser everything else you will see a dramatic and unusable lag and slow responce.
