I just bought a Dell Inspiron 15.6" Laptop With Dual-core 3GB Memory 320GB HDD HDMI and it is supposed to be able to be upgraded to 8GB. I was wondering how I would do that exactly?
Dell says that? They probably mean you can buy a different model with more ram for more money: They mean an upgrade off the base model would be my guess.

Open the laptop. Screwdriver will be your tool of choice.
take the RAM out, and see what type of ram it is, or bring it to BestBuy.
Show them the type of ram you have, or tell them.
Pay for the Ram, go home, and install it.
By adding up to 5 GB RAM. go to DELL, and they can make sure that you're getting the [proper memory needed for that upgrade.
