How do you beat Rhapthorne in Dragon Quest 8?
So im on Rhapthorne in the Black Citadel, im lvl 39, and this guy is EVIL! His desperate attacks hit for 350+ damage and his icy blow hits for about 100 to all. =( I know he has almost 5000 HP but he is just too hard. Any tips?

Best way to beat him, tension up the Hero and then let him have it. Also, use spells to increase your defense, and the Hero's attack. Have Angelo focus on healing, and use the Sage's Stone and Tembrel of Tension every round if you have them. If he is still giving you a hard time, check out your equipment, and see if there is anything better for your party.
Also, you may want to level up a bit more, like to 42 or so, at least for Hero.
