How do you develop a research plan?
How do you decide what to research? How do you decide what is worth while and may be publishable. I'm lost in my research. Is deciding what to research something one person does by themselves or is there usually a team?

Research can either be an individual or team. Many teachers do not like team work in research since it is difficult to determine which team member did what.
In the real world a team approach is frequently used and the results have been good since many heads are better than on and you can have people with different backgrounds and ideas contribute to the project.
On one level perhaps you can your teacher can suggest topics. On a higher level you should become familiar with the research in the area and you probably will get ides there.
