Stress is a tough problem to deal with. It is not easy at all to get rid of it in the long run. Depending on how serious you regard the problem the more successful your treatment will be.
Actually stress may have really devastating effects on humans health.
Personally I try to see the root causes - what does make me feel stressed? And I try to get rid of them, completely! To avoid any stress factors in my life.
1. Controlled Breathing - Sit upright, take a deep breathe in, hold for a few seconds, release it normally and effortlessly, all the while focusing only on your breathing. Start by repeating these steps for 60 seconds, and increase it to 5, 10, 15 minutes, or however long you can manage it. The longer the duration, the better your stress relief.
2. Exercise - If you had a physically inactive, but mentally and emotionally exhaustive and stressful day, a good physical work out or running for 30 minutes at the end of such a day clears your head and lowers stress levels.
3. Laughing - Find a way to laugh. Like watch a sitcom or movie you like, or a book of jokes that you know will make you laugh. Or just visit friends or hang out with some one fun.
Exercise, doing some crazy dance, take a deep breath by breathing out the stress are some of the effective ways which relieve my stress. I found some useful information at http://seahealth.org/anxiety
I try to do at least one activity off that list a day. The ideas are really simple and you can do most of them right at home in minutes a day. A few snippets from the list include:
- stretching
- exercising
- eating a healthy comfort food (mine is dark chocolate)
- aromatherapy
- take a foot bath
there's 20 more that are really good. check it out for some great ideas on how you can destress.
First of all, try scheduling your time; by scheduling I mean put in blocks of time where you MAKE yourself relax by watching tv, listening to music or whatever you like to do. Hang out with friends and have a good time. You can work hard at scheduled blocks of time, but the rest, you have to actually rest and not think about anything, just have fun and relax. Good luck! Stress is THE worse ha
Exercise is great. Being physically tired is a great way to relax.
Meditation and quiet helps, as will soft sounds and dim light.
Try clearing your mind of all thoughts...all thoughts! Have a blank mind for as long as you can hold that state. Get comfortable and just be still for awhile.
Running is the best way for me, but now that I have kids there's not much time for running. So I usually do deep breathing exercises. It's quick, easy, and can be done anywhere.
i hope this helps but if u want to get ur mind off of it then u should read a really good book that makes u forget ur surroundings. that usually helps me

Running. I run everyday for mind and body.
Keep a positive attitude - review everyday the good things that happened to you.
Don't worry about things you have no control over but always have a contingy plan for the worst outcome.
Yoga is great too.
