well i can give several answers since i don't know where you want to use it at. first if you want to use it in MS office Word you can go to insert menu then click on symbols then you can find the ∆ sign feel free to copy this and past it if you want .
the other method if you want to use it on another prog. you might use different ways depending on the application

2) also you can go to start programs then accessories then system tools then character map if you have win vista you can just type character map in the search bar. good luck

As someone mentioned above, i think it depends on the computer you are using
1. go to windows 'start' menu
2. click on 'run'
3. type charmap and click ok. A whole list of symbols show up.
4. Select the symbol for delta. Click Select. Click Copy. Close charmap.
5. Go to the document where you wan to insert the symbol and hit ctrl + v
