1. Focus yourself on what's at hand, try pushing yourself to keep attention for just 5 more minutes, do 5 more of whatever you can apply it to (5 more push-ups, 5 more pages), rather than trying to keep distractions off your mind, try to focus on the important.
2. Ask yourself if the things you are thinking about are really worth your attention, saying it out loud may help.
3. Try writing out the things on your mind so you're free to 'forget' them, so you can feel 'finished' with those thoughts.
Of course this isn't something that you can learn in just a few minutes, and I don't guarantee it'll work a 100% for you, but give it a shot, and when you're about to give up, apply the first rule. ;-)
I also have A.D.D.
my mind is always racing around. what i've found that works really well is listening to/playing a CD of classical music. For some reason that seems to work. I think its a hard thing to learn to do.
im starting to think a.d.d isn't really true , i believe the food we eat , controls what we do in life .... we drink to much sugary drinks, eat to much salt , live life to fast and really we have created a monster....
you answered you own question " i was always " so what now
you grew out of ADD noway its a mind thought you are what you are..... running like the wind
My son is very affected by ADHD. He is very very disorganized and forgetful. i have made him a chart on the wall and he does his chores and expectations for the day and earns rewards for them. His mind is always racing. i tell him to think about everything he is doing and make sure it is done the way he wants it done.
