Depends on the kind of game. If it's a pro game, it lasts 48 minutes from 4 quarters of 12-minute play (although in some countries, they stick with 10 minutes a quarter). Due to stoppage times (fouls, free throws, turnovers, half tie, etc.) and other attractions, they tend to last around 2 hours or so. In the college circuit, a game consists of two 20-minute halves. Like the pro game, there's stoppage time and other attractions, so it also may well be about 2 hours.
on court about 40 minutes but im usually find myself watching for about an hour and half with all the breaks and time outs because basketball is mostly a sprinting gain game and a half court plodding set ups when bigger players try to slow down the sprinters by leaning on them to try and slow their muscles down

In college basketball (in televised games):
2 twenty minute halves, with a 15 minute intermission in between.
There are official tv timeouts approximately every 4 minutes (16 minute mark, 12 minute mark, 8 minute mark, 4 minute mark....)
Televised games last approximately 2 - 2 1/2 hours.

4x 12 minute quarters. So 48 minutes in total but with all the breaks it might last a couple of hours.
2 20 minute halves 40 min in all. in college that is in high school 4 8 min quarters
About 2 1/2 hours with all the time outs and halftime but it could go longer if it goes into over time.
