I have a practice sheet that will help me for the math contest. I have no clue what the majority is about. I only done number one. If anyone can help me with any problem, other than #1, by showing step by step (either showing website on how to do it or doing it yourself in the comments) to getting the answers. Thanks I really really appreciate it.

Hi,
1. If 0 < x < 4, then a < 2x + 3 < b. find the sum of a and b.
If x = 0. then a < 2(0) + 3, so a < 3, Assuming it;s an integer, use a = 2.
If x = 4, then 2(4) + 3 < b, so 11 < b, so use 12 for b
a + b = 2 + 12 = 14 <==ANSWER
