A burning software as Ashamploo Burning Studio 7 (its a free 40day trial that can transfer programs to both CD and DVD-check the link)
Enough CDs/DVDs (CDs hold 700mb, DVDs hold 4.7Gb approx) to hold what you want to get off the computer
And how to do it
After installing software and updating it and making sure that you have the SETUP files and any supporting files prepared in a folder(You use set up files so that the program will be reinstalled properly in another location if possible), this is how you do it.
Open Ashampoo Burning Studio
Insert an empty CD/DVD into an empty CD/DVD writer (Shiny side down-if pop out version make sure that the cd/dvd is attached properly over the needle.) (You can go to My Computer and check to see if something is there)
An auto run window should pop up asking what to do with the new CD/DVD
Go to the Ashampoo Burning Studio Software
Hover mouse over Burn Files and Folders, a new menu will pop out
Left Click on create a new CD/DVD...disc
A new window will pop up with buttons to Add files and Add folders
left Click on add
A new dialog box will come up
Go locate the folder, left click on it once and click add. Close the dialog box. At the bottom of the window you'll see how much space remains on the CD/DVD
Click next and it'll check the CD/DVD in the drive and once the disc is empty.
You can click "write >"
You may be asked to choose burning speed, just check what is written on another cd/dvd .you may be asked to finalize the cd.dvd which means that in the event its a rewritable, no more info could be added. . Click ok. the process will begin and you'll get a box popping up telling you that it burnt successfully. With options to verify disc etc.
Oh and If you in fact mean disk as in diskette
You just put it in the floppy drive, label side up and the metallic slider in front
It'll register on the system, format it.
Then right click whatever you want to send and click on send to and then choose the name of the diskette or location like A:/

you burn programs from a computer to a disk with a DVD burner hardware like Lite-On 24X DVD writer
Then you use the free Imgburn software from http://www.imgburn.com/
use Verbatim blank DVD or CD's
Open software and import the folder or file you want to burn and click the burn button
