K so I tried using handbrake and it didn't work. So is there another free easy site I can use to transfer DVDs onto my computer? I have a Windows Vista (Dell) computer if that helps.
DVD Shrink is the best free software out there to transfer a full length dvd onto your computer.
However to go a one more step use a dvd to AVI program to convert it into one file which then you can burn to disc
hope the helps :)
If handbrake doesn't work, I think other free easy tool can not do it either.
Try the following tool called dvd ripper.

Maybe it can help you transfer your dvd to your computer.
if your looking for a free program, dvd shrink is the best. If your willing to fork out a little cash, then aiseesoft is by far the best
go to cnet. the have all sorts of freeware like Nero and dvd shrink. plus, your disc drive needs to be able to write dvd's, not just cd's
