"I am in bed" eh o certo (para significar eu estou na cama).
Simplismente nao faria sentido).
EDIT: "I am in bed" e "I am in bad" nao tem a mesma sonoridade.
I am in bad" nao significa nada. Voce poderia dizer "I am in a bad situation".
Voce pode dizer, "I am on the bed" ou "I am in bed". Mas "I am in the bed" eh gramaticalmente incorreto.
"I am in bed" - Eu estou na cama debaixo das cobertas, provavelmente deitado.
"I am on the bed" (normalmente disem "I am on my bed") - Eu estou por cima das cobertas sentado ou deitado.
@Johnny Thank you! I completely agree. And your written English is very good!
primeiro respondendo a sua pergunta: o correto é (I am in bed). = Eu estou na cama.
pois estamos falado da expressão (be in bed) = estar na cama.
Por exemplo: o correto é se dizer: (be in prison) = estar na prisão, e não (be in the prison)

(Marllon) I don't wanna bother you man, but you wanted to explain your first answer but it didn't work out, you replied saying that the most correct would be saying: (I am in the bed). Well, first off it's a very huge mistake to say such a thing because we can't use the definite article (THE) in this context.
and also at the beginning of your answer you said: (Se estiver falando, o 'I am in bed' soa como 'eu estou na pior', 'estou mal'). Well, I do think you mixed up the noun (bed) with the adjective (bad).
but you said that (no sentido de ouvir. "I am in bed" e "I am in bad" tem a mesma sonoridade) Well, I would say NO, both words don't have the same sonority just because the second sentence doesn't exist and it also doesn't add up.
you'll get burn if you say that one in this context to a native english speaker coz they won't understand anything you're talking about, if you wanna say you're in a bad situation talking about your health, you can just say (I'm sick) or if you're talking about your financial condition you can say (I am broke),
but never ever say something like (I am in bad) trying to say that you're in a bad health condition or that you don't have any money or stuff like dat.
and as (dsarf f) said, the words (bed & bad) have a different sonority, despite many people at the beginning of their studies in english it might sounds a little bit similar but it's not.
the word (BAD) has the pronounciation a bit stronger, while the noun (bed) has the pronounciation a little bit softer.
but that's all, I gotta stop typing.coz it's too late & I'm outta time.

Hey (dsarf f) thanks a lot buddy, But I understand why the people make a fuss about some grammatical structures in english because for example; in portuguese we have the so-called (Academia Nacional de Letras) and they say what's right and what's wrong in our grammar, however in english people don't have it, I mean, they have some grammatical rules but they're not enough specially to foreign people like us, but as I told here, we just need to study and to get use to it.
Sometimes it's a little bit hard to learn and understand it but there's a phrase that I like to remember all the time that says: (No pain No Gain).
"I am in bed" e "I am in bad" tem a mesma sonoridade pra pessoa que está ouvindo. Por isso o I am in the bed é o mais correto. NESSE CASO.
