Starting tomorrow, we are supposed to get at least 5 inches of snow, with blizzard conditions, high winds, and dangerous driving conditions. Are these the right conditions for a snow day?
It depends almost all schools coordinate "snow days" with local officials, meteorologists and the department of transportation. If it is enough to knock out power or make roads hazardous in the morning during transport to the school then you will have off, and if the snow plows can't keep up you will have off.
Sounds like it if you live in a place unacustomed to a large amount of snow. Where I live 2 iinches would get us out of school! lol So if you live in a place accustomed to large amounts of snow then maybe not, if you are like me and live in a place with little snowfall then yeah that will get you out!

It shouldn't be, really, but everyone is so weak willed when it comes to snow that it has become a problem with an inch or more.

Here in the UK (in the NORTH of Europe !), a millimetre or two seems to be enough for a snow day.
Well if snow is forecast then yeah I guess you could have a snow day!!!
5 inches is enough for a good night with your dad.
I would think so, but city and/or county officials or bosses make those decisions, not I.
