is a anime called Neon Genesis Evangelion worth watching?
I stumbled across a web site with all the episodes of a show called Neon Genesis Evangelion well Google searching something else, I've never heard of it but I've got nothing else to do right now
Personally I think Its the greatest anime out there.
When making Eva director Anno was suffering from depression and really shows this off well in the series; all the characters have some sort "psychosocial problems" and are easy to relate to even the minor characters are all very interesting. There is so much little detail that you miss out on when watching it the first, second even tenth time around! After airing in Japan book's had to be released just trying to explain what happened. There seires also has one of the most contorversal endings to any anime ever, fans went so far as to spray graffiti over GAINAX studio with things like "Die Anno" and even sent him death threats (This was even shown in the End of Evangelion movie)
The plot in a nutshell is about Angels born from Adam try to refuse with him causing 3rd impact (big bang) and recreate the world in there own image, However some people believe the Angles are actually born from the main character, Shinji Ikari's, own mental issues. There are many theories to many scenes this is what makes Eva so great! It really brings you into its world, it doesn't tell you what something means or why it happened it lets you come to your own conclusion's.
Even to this day, after 17 years, it remains one of the most talked about and discussed series of all time.
Yes. It's not exceptionally good by itself, but it has a great deal of historical value. Probably no anime since then has had as much influence on the medium as a whole.
Just be warned, it IS a colossal mindscrew, and the ending is NOT what the show sets you up to expect. You have to be pretty open-minded to get the full effect of this anime. Be prepared to see some disturbing stuff and do some deep thinking.
I would recommend it. It's considered one of the greatest classic animes of all time and has inspired many shows and artists, and it's still popular to this day. If you don't have anything better to do it's worth a try.
I've never seen it, but from what I've heard it's really quite an amazing story. However, it's also very dark, depressing, gory, and that's why I never watched it. Plus, it had a Gecko Ending.
I liked it, but it's themes and psychological motifs are very strong, and if you only watch the original anime and none of the movies or anything else, then you may be disappointed.

I saw one movie - The End of Evangelion and was bored out of my mind. Won't go near it again.
It is not bad in my opinion. It is a sci-fi anime. Give it a try and judge for yourself.
