Hmm, ..., what are the course requirements? Generally, if a course has no prerequisites it's a pretty easy course. Be that as it may, you're going to ind that anything worth doing in college is worth working hard at.
My company interviews droves of graduating college students every year. Those who have degrees and relevant summer work and / or internships in the 6 major engineering disciplines: Comp-Sci, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, and Nuclear Engineering or have have degrees in Physical Sciences are always considered the rest go in the waste bin. The next four year will cast the direction for your life. If you're just going to mess around taking easy courses then at the end of four years when you have a "nothing" degree you will get a "nothing" job in retail or fast food and probably have to live at home in Mommy & Daddy's basement.
Do yourself a favor. Take courage and stop whining about difficult courses. Take the hard courses and really hit the next 4 or 5 years hard; earning good grades in a significant degree and you will go far in life. Else, your going to have a life filled with low-end jobs and disappointment.

The potential clearly exists that your course is very intensive.
What you get out of it depends on you.
Why not ask at your college office if there is a curriculum and/or a recommended book(s)
