cITY LIFE CAN BE FUN FOR A WHILE, BUT THE HUMAN BEING IS NOT MEANT TO HAVE SO MUCH CONSTANT OVERLOAD TO ALL THE SENSES AT ONCE AS IT IS IN CITIES!!! tHE COUNTRY LIFE IS TOO BORING FOR MOST PEOPLE -- we need contact and interaction with others in order to stay healthy, both physically & mentally !!!
So, I would say something inbetween, like a small town where you can walk everywhere, where everyone knows your name and drops by often just to chat or to have tea on the front porch or BBQ outback! The shop owners know you and you can take stuff home on approval or on a ticket if you forget your wallet! Or get gas & pay Friday when you get your check!!! I grew up there -- it was called: NAPLES, FLORIDA, but it is gone now and has totally disappeared, there is another city there now it looks like Palm Beach cloned itself & moved across the state!!!
People need people, they need friends and stimulation. They also need peace & quiet at times -- esp at night to relax and to sleep well. Good luck. I've read papers like yours in the past, tho!
But I don't agree! However I can pretend to do so.
Cities offer much in the way of both entertainment and education. Entertainment is at the theaters, from stage to movies to nightclubs (any club)... Education is often available in many forms: junior colleges, vocational colleges, four-year colleges and some grad programs, etc. and are most often maintained in or near a city, to list the most obvious forms of education.
Why? Because that is where the most people are living and working, making money to spend in a wide varieties of ways.
They may want to go out to eat, go to a museum or library, pay for the upkeep of nearby parks and in fact pay for all of the attractions of city life, including all forms of entertainment and all forms of education.
Now you list a few and make a strong argument for your affirmative side. Convince me... I hate cities.
Your question is......is city life better than country life. Depends on who you ask. I think country life is better. More peaceful and quiet. But the city has movie theaters, shopping ,dining out. It's easier to get medical help in the city.

well i live in the country and commute to the city, which i think is great..
city you get much better choices in entertainment, eating/drinking.
cinemas, cafes, street art, museums, libraries.. all these are much better in the city.
the reason i live in the country is for the trees and the fresh air, and the sound of geese :)
