You ALWAYS want to download things from the official source. (even trusted places like cnet are not good to use).
Also when installing ANY software, doesnt matter how trustworthy the supplier is (even adobe) will often bundle other software with it. Now the software bundles with it, COULD be malware.
This is why you shouldnt be fking retarded and spam the "next" button when installing. Read each page and make sure you understand WHAT you are agreeing to and installing before clicking next....
last time i downloaded freemake, they didnt bundle anything (other then their other software/addons), but it doesnt mean that it hasnt changed.
freemake, like 99.999999999999% of all other conversion software, does ILLEGALLY use the ffmpeg library.
Is Freemake or Download Video Converter safe? HELL NO! OF COURSE NOT!! YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT IT IS AND NEITHER DO I! BUT AT LEAST I KNOW ENOUGH TO IGNORE IT AND TREAT IT LIKE THE PLAGUE. ANYTHING FREE OR UNEXPLAINED IS NOT SAFE! THERE'S A LOT OF LEGITIMATE SOFTWARE THAT'S NOT EVEN SAFE! WHAT MAKES YOU THINK SOMETHING "FREE" IS SAFE? WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU!? WHATEVER YOU GET OR BENEFIT FROM BY INSTALLING IT IS GONNA BE A BIG EFFING HEADACHE AND WAY MORE PAINFUL TO GET RID OF THAN JUST PAYING A FEW BUCKS FOR WHAT YOU WANT FROM ITS LEGITIMATE SOURCE AND VENDOR! You are a fool for even asking and perhaps this is just the hard lesson you need to learn that there is no free lunch in the world of software and malware -- so go ahead and install it and see what happens. But don't say i didn't warn you. Buh-Bye!

RE:

Will it put Malware on the machine. Does it cause viruses?http://www.freemake.com/free_video_converter/
i also use freemake, its a pretty good, easy to use program.
And if you download it from http://www.freemake.com/free_video_converter/ and only from http://www.freemake.com/free_video_converter/ you shouldnt have any problems with malware/viruses.

Yes...I use it myself, and downloaded it from your link a few weeks ago. Never had a problem with it.
Hope this helps.
Nope! I wouldn't use it cause it causes viruses. It left a inprint on my computer where it creates more viruses. So no,there is no such thing as free.
