I give you props for figuring out it's fake. I also give you props for believing in the paranormal. My friend gave me a burned dvd of it. I just saw that movie for the first time, last night, at 2am, by myself, lights off. Creeepy sh*t.
I think people are wack if they claim it sucks, is boring, and isn't scary. They have no bragging rights. They most likely watched it in theaters surrounded by people. Now that's not wrong, I'm just saying that it's harder to get creeped out that way. Plus today's generation goes for more of the jumpy scenes that make you "jump out of your seat". The best horror movies of all time don't go for that factor, they go more for the eerie creepy moments. Which Paranormal Activity fully has.
Anyways, the movie isn't real. It's a mockumentary, not a documentary. The credits after the movie say something like "characters and events portrayed here are fictitious. Anyone or anything relating to it is pure coincidence". Yea, something like that. This means the movie isn't based on a true story, it's just an improvised script.
And, the characters are mic'd. Remember in the beginning, when the girl was whispering from far away and we could hear her? I think that's bullshit. News reporters have top notch cameras, yet they still use a mic. She must've had a small one tucked under her shirt.
ALSO, the movie was made on a budget. A low budget, but a budget nonentheless. A budget provided by a studio. It was made by a studio, not some guy named Micah. Use these facts in case you're ever in an argument with someone who preaches the movie's real.
BUT. stuff like that does happen, i couldn't fully enjoy the movie because I was too busy thinking about the things i've been through. Stuff with spirits, and at one point: a demon.
It is not real, it is a movie, with a script, and actors. It was not based on true events either, nor real footage, the writer of the film actually was inspired to write the movie after living in his new house things kept falling off of the shelves due to the house settling. Here is a direct quote about the film and what inspired it. “The house, or the ground around it, was settling; things were falling off shelves in the middle of the night,” he continues. “I’m not saying there was a ghost or anything, because the incidents, or whatever you would call them, were happening months apart.” - Oren Pele
i think a lot of people come up with fake **** to get everyone all excited and get their hopes up...but there IS other life out there. i have no doubt. it would be ignorant to think otherwise. there are so many different universes out there and our sun is the most common type of star! i love thinking about that kind of stuff. i just recently watched the movie What The Bleep Do We Know and it blew my mind and gave me so much more to ponder! there was a program on the history channel that pretty much proves that ancient civilizations had help from other life forms i wish i could remember what that episode was called i think about it all of the time. well, anyway, thanks for letting me share my opinion! :)
no its not real footage but it is based on real footage and a real story
but they were really good actors i thought because it does look like real footage :)
its definitely not real.. it says so in the credits
sweet movie tho.
