Fairy Tail doesn't have a storyline, it's just full of missions. I find the power of friendship and power ups pulled out of Hiro's *** to be irritating and I think the series are currently running on fanservice. I would not recommend Fairy Tail, but there's lots of others

depends how picky you are. Fairy Tail seems to be almost as good as naruto, one piece, and bleach in my opinion. There isn't really much of a main story for the anime, just story arcs, like going on missions, defeating major dark guilds and other stuff, but trust me it's still a great anime to watch. I think the manga right now is going into the main story though.
