Answers & Comments
You can use ratios to find the answers.
9:19
And so if the whole ring is .7 cm^3, then divide this by 9 + 19=28.
.7/28=1/40
To find the volume of nickel, multiply by 9, 9/40=0.225 gcm^-3
To find the volume of gold, multiply by 19, 19/40=0.475 gcm^-3
G(old vol) + N(ickel vol) = .7 cc
making G = .7 -N
(.7 -N)19 + N(9) = 10.3
Solve for N and get N = 3/10; making G = 4/10
