Two truckers leave from the same point driving in opposite directions, the first trucker driving at 62 miles per hour and the second at 63miles per hr. The 1st trucker has a one-hr head start. How long will they be able to talk heir car phones if the phones have a 300-mile range?

Initial condition is that they are 62 miles apart so to remain within range they must not exceed separation of more than 300-62 = 238 miles
they are then separating at a rate of 62 + 63 miles per hour = 125 miles per hour
at a speed of 125 mph it will take 238/125 hours to reach the limiting range of 300 miles = 1.904 hours
so including the one hour start, they can drive for 2.904 hours before they reach the limiting range of the car phones.
