When an object is dropped to the ground from a height of h meters, the time it takes for the object to reach the ground is given by the equation t = sqrt h/49 , where t is measured in seconds. If an object falls 78.4 meters before it hits the ground, find the time it took for the object to fall.

It depends where the sq-rt is. is the the sq-rt of h divided by 49. or take h divide it by 49 and give the sq-rt of that number. the first one is 0.180701581 seconds and the second one is 1.264911064 seconds.

t = sqrt(h/4.9)

You can derive the equation for t as follows:
h = 0.5gt^2
Solving this equation for t,
t = sqrt(2h/g)
Since g = 9.8 m/s
t = sqrt(h/4.9)
