What version of Movie Maker? If it's one of the Windows Live versions or the newest Movie Maker 2012, then uninstall it, download a fresh copy and install it.

Both Windows XP and Windows Vista install Movie Maker with the operating system so there's no way to uninstall or re-install them. :-(
