The default gateway is the IP addres of a router on your local network that connects you to the rest of the Internet; to send information outside of your network you have to forward it through the gateway. You need to have one configured in order to access the internet. You can either set the gateway adress manually or find one automatically (along with your other IP settings) from a DHCP server. Most networks have DHCP set up so you don't need to set a default gateway, it will find one for you. But if you are configuring the other options (IP address, subnet mask, name servers) by hand you also need to specify a default gateway.
A default gateway is an ip address. It is the address of the router/connection you use to connect to the internet. It would be a seperate ip address from your pc if you are on a network. Think of it like an apt building. All the pc's are apt's a, b, c & the default gateway is the frontdoor of the building aka the internet.
There's two sets of IP addresses allocated for private use: 192.168.x.x and 10.x.x.x. Any number in those ranges is allowed. And port forwarding has nothing to do with your browser's IP address, other than the fact that, if your router has a web-based configuration utility, you'll have to go to http://10.0.1.1/
your default gateway is based of your routers ip so it could be anything but it looks like you have a private ip idk about forwarding ports i assume like you normally would
