Check all the wires going into the back. i think its the blue one that is picture with the screws.... check they havent come un done. if everything is fine replace the wire that goes from tower to monitor.
your video cable to the monitor is probably loose at one of the connections. make sure they are on and tighten them down with the finger screws. if this don't work and you have another computer plug this into the monitor. if nothing get a new cable if it can be disconnected form the monitor.
if you try that and it works on the other computer. look at the back of your pc there will be some slot looking things if the connector is in one of these have your video card checked or replaced. if it is not and on the motherboard you may need a card because that one broke. if your comfortable opening the case unscrew the card if it is a card and take it out then put it back in. if not take it to a repair shop or staples to have it fixed. are you getting any beeps when your turning it on 1 beep is normal. if more or there different lengths you have a problem. like the board failed, or the ram is bad. or your operating system is corrupted.
sounds like your graphic card might have taken a crap, it most likely is not the monitor.
The simple solution to diagnosing this problem is to try and use a different display to as least see if it is the card or the monitor, either try another monitor or see if your tv in your house has any inputs you could use. use a display you know works
If your mother board has display out ports try removing your card and using the motherboard ports, (this would isolate the issue to the GPU) if your already using the motherboard display out ports your probably pretty screwed, sorry but true
