Okay I have a compaq presario sr2150nx.
I just got a galaxy GeForce 8400 GS card which is PCI-E.
Now I upgraded my PSU and installed the card only to find out that with it plugged into the pci-e slot that my wireless card stops working, I checked in hardware setup and it says the device is working properly, and it does show up but what happens is that it doesnt display any of the networks that I usually connect to.
So my question is pretty much how the hell can I fix this so i can have the Graphics card plugged in and my wireless card functioning properly?
Also
Could it be a mobo problem or something like a device conflict, or is it possible that i need to update my bios?
Thanks in advance.
Update:Alright brent you had the right answer it was an IRQ conflict I feel like a moron now lol.
But I moved around my wireless card and sound card (switched the slots)
Everything works fine now.
Now the only thing I need to figure out is how to select yours as the best answer.

Does removing the graphic card makes it work again? It sounds like a channel conflict. If two devices are using the same channel, only one will work.
Make sure they do not share IRQ channel. Right click on "Computer" and select properties, then hardware tab, then go to Device Manager, then find both graphic card and wireless card, and rightclick and select properties for each. Click on Resources, and find IRQ in the list. If they have the same number, then it means only one can communicate. IRQ stands for Interrupt Request Queue.
in keeping with ur data i think there are 2 structures. one is a working laptop or laptop the different is laptop. have you ever attempt to place the two one in all 'em on an analogous area? because of the fact distance is between the foremost difficulty w/ on the spot. make confident no longer something is in the way of the sign. goodluck
