I'm trying to build a computer. Also, what is a IDE header for and SATA headers. Also what are the USB ports on the motherboard for?
Atualizada:I know what a USB port is. But theres 2 actually ON the motherboard inside the computer. I'm thinking it's to connect the front up. I also understand that this is basic stuff, just double checking before I buy everything

Floppy Disk Drive, IDE PATA hard and cd drives, IDE SATA hard drives, USB headers are used to connect USB connectors to, usually in groups of two.
FDD headers are used for floppy disk drives. In all likelyhood, you won't be using them. IDE headers are used for CD/DVD drives and older hard drives, and SATA ports are used for newer hard drives. As far as USB ports *on* the motherboard? You mean the ones on the back? Those are just for peripherals.
Fdd Port

You may still be able to get a "floptical", a 120 MB 3.5" optical drive that also accepts floppies. There also used to be tape drives that plugged into the floppy port, but I doubt that they still make those. Maybe you can get a used one and do tape backups...:) Jim
I dont wish to be rude, but this is very basic stuff, you may be better off buying a ready made PC.
However FDD is Floppy Disk Drive
IDE & SATA Connectors are for hard Disks (depending on what type you have)
as fo USB, sorry but that should be really obvious
