To start with you have to know what absolute value means. it is a type of function that returns only positive numbers. so in order to get ordered pairs take some x values like 0, 1, -1 and put it in the function.

that is : Y = l0l + 2 (absolute value of 0 = 0) so Y = 2

Y = l1l + 2 (absolute value of 1 = 1 because 1 is positive no change is needed.) therefore Y = 3

Y = l-1l + 2 (absolute value of -1 is 1 because absolute value returns positive number; therefore Y = 3

Now here is your 3 ordered pairs (-1 , 3) , (0 , 2), and (1 , 3)

Now you can take this values and plot them on your graph. that should be easy to do. if you want you can take more values to make your graph more accurate.

Just graph abs.x but translated up 2. So the Y intercept would be (0,2) and from there it would behave normally.

if I were you, I would make sure you pick some negative numbers also, and find more than 3 ordered pairs
