the graph is going to be a v shape and will start to spots up from the (0,0) point on the graph... so (0,2) there's one point if u have a graphing calculator you can plug in the problem view the graph and get a set of all the points, assuming u have one
You just need three ordered pairs, which means, when x = something, what does y equal? So make a table of values:
When x = 0, y = 2, and so first ordered pair is (0,2)
When x = 1, y = 3, (1,3)
When x = -1, y = 3, (1,3
Since the vertex is at y=2 (0,2), you know the graph will not go below this point. So plot these three points and draw your graph, which should look like a V where the bottom point is at (0,2)
To start with you have to know what absolute value means. it is a type of function that returns only positive numbers. so in order to get ordered pairs take some x values like 0, 1, -1 and put it in the function.
that is : Y = l0l + 2 (absolute value of 0 = 0) so Y = 2
Y = l1l + 2 (absolute value of 1 = 1 because 1 is positive no change is needed.) therefore Y = 3
Y = l-1l + 2 (absolute value of -1 is 1 because absolute value returns positive number; therefore Y = 3
Now here is your 3 ordered pairs (-1 , 3) , (0 , 2), and (1 , 3)
Now you can take this values and plot them on your graph. that should be easy to do. if you want you can take more values to make your graph more accurate.

y= |x|+2

hope this helps.
IF x = 0 the y will = 2 graph point (0,2)
x=1, y = 3 (1,3)
x = 2, y=4 (2,4)
x = -1, y =3
x = -2, y = 4
x = -3, y = 5
And so on
Absolute value of x means that it will be like a V with the minimum @ y=2
here are the pts i have:
x=-2 y=4
x=-1 y=3
x=0 y=2
x=1 y=3
x=2 y=4
the Y's go up 5,6,7...
and X's go Apart -3,3 -4,4 -5,5
plug 3 numbers in,
Do 1, 1+ 2= 3
so 1,3
Do 2, 2+2= 4
so 2,4
Do 4, 4+2=6
so 4,6
You can pick any number, just plug it in to x yo get a y value.
Just graph abs.x but translated up 2. So the Y intercept would be (0,2) and from there it would behave normally.
ok so this is how u do it
plot 2 which is 0,2 then for the slope,X, go up one to the right one, then from there go up one to the right one
there u hav ur 3 orderd pairs
the absolute value is a positive value, so /x/ is x.
3 ordered pairs.
Y = 2
X = -2
Y = 0 or X = 0
graph it.
just pick 3 numbers for x and then find y
if I were you, I would make sure you pick some negative numbers also, and find more than 3 ordered pairs
