When I boot up my Computer it shows something, than it shows something like:
Sata 1 S.M.A.R.T, Status BAD: Backup and replace
Press F1 to resume.
I heard that it means that my HD will be dead soon.
I have no Idea how it got there, but I want to know is there any way to stop it (for example: To reinstall OS and to replace my important data) or something like that.
My OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
My Processor: Pentium Dual-Core 2.50GHz
My RAM: 2gb
My HDD: 250gb
Reinstalled : About 4 or 5 times.
Please help me. Cheers :)

All hard drives have this SMART system on them.
It detects various mechanical parameters and makes analysis based on that.
I agree with "Marvin"; not much you can do, except do it promptly.
First and ASAP: back up your data to some media (CD, external HDD, whatever you have); then get a copy of all working drivers.
With separate CD driver storage, accessing and installing functional drivers is far easier.
Try Driver Magician Lite (freeware);

Use it to identify & back up all drivers for this BU. Put the file it creates onto a dedicated CD. Always keep it with your unit.
Note that if you have 'Automatic Update' enabled (on post XP systems) the drivers may get updated without any notification, so this DML backup should be run every month or so just to make sure.
Buy a new HDD (try 'newegg.com') http://www.newegg.com/Store/Category.aspx?Category...
Install it, then re-install the OS & drivers from your disk as you saved them.
Then get Windows Updated.
"Secunia" will scan your system and determine what needs updates not included in Windows. Very handy.

Properly done (with the corrected system wide mod's) will take about 6-8 hours.

You can stop this message after you change the smart setting in the bios. However, this practice is not the best.
You need to consider to replace the hard disk or at least backup the data on the disk regularly. re-install windows will affect the software, but not the hardware on it self
There is no way to fix this - its is not sotware related - it is a warning of hardware failure. These are actual physical faults in the drive and connot be repaired.
So yes - like you said - backup and replace.
And do it SOON! Those warnings don't last forever....
i get this error for 2 years, there is no harm in my hdd, it works perfectly
This question is confusing for me too
i had the exact same message some 5 years ago on a notebook
it is still running flawlessly
