Hi I just got my computer and I'm new to windows 7. I put my sims games on this computer and I was planning on downloading custom content from sites like xmsims and others that require the files to be extracted. I have winwar I've used it for many years and it always use to work. But now everytime I try to extract my content to C:/Program Files(x86)/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3/Mods/Packages, it doesn't work it just says Access Denied, and there are no files to extract. Ugh it's really annoying me. Is this a windows 7 problem?Or is this "Program Files (x86) problem because I have regular Program Files and Program Files (x86) but my sims games are in (x86) ? Someone help me!
Update:I just downloaded the resource.cfg and its still not working :/ But I'll check to make sure winrar is compatible, but if it isn't what should I download to get that custom content into my game, I know there's a way! lol

The downloads and the game should be in (x86) since you're doing it the old way. You really should update your game and follow the directions here http://www.modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Sims_3:I... on how to add custom content. It's much easier that way.
maybe you might have the wrong version of winrar, make sure its compatible with your version of windows, because there may be a different version for x86. and are you sure its not the custom content thats corrupted? you can also try extracting to somewhere else on your computer and then manually copying those files into the proper directory. hope that helped
Do you have the resource.cfg file in the mods folder? If you do it should work.
