Hi there,
I have recently moved from ubuntu server to freenas as ubuntu was overkill for my needs. I set up freenas 7.2.8191 without issue... until i get to upnp which is what i was primarily using it for. Iv set it up following tutorials and everything seems fine...but no device will see it. could this be something to do with my router? or is upnp dodgy on freenas? my router has upnp enabled.
Atualizada:I'd didn't realise there were two types of upnp. However both my server and my pc and mac are connected to router via Ethernet and stil no upnp. :(

I suppose you mean using UPnP AV - as a way to share media at home as opposed to UPnP IGD - a protocol used between devices and router to open ports on the router.
The setting on the router of UPnP is related to the second protocol - it is not relevant for your media sharing at home (though I would recommend leaving it on anyway, to help some services and games work better)
from my experience some home networks have problems using multicast,
for the sake of pinpointing the problem I would recommend that your will try to access the media from a device connected to the wired (ethernet) network, and not a wifi network.
