In market for a new car...wondering if I should go for a new honda fully loaded or go for a pre owned BMW/ Acura with say 30K-40K on it, as the price would be comparable with the new honda
it depends on if the bmw still has a warranty. once it runs up prices for parts and services can get very expensive. and recently bmw has been known for not lasting as long as they used too. acura and honda are the same company. they both are very reliable. acura and bmw are more about luxury though. its still about whether you want a new or used car.
The bmw and the acura would be more performance oriented than the honda if that's what you are looking for. i prefer the bmw as i own a 2002 325i. i bought it with 54000 miles on it and it was like brand new. i have driven my mother-in-law's 2002 acura tl and though that it handled well and had good acceleration but the bmw turns heads more than the acura and honda. maintenance on the bmw is costly though. if you cant afford an $80 oil change at your local oil change shop, then forget it.
if you want to impress, get great acceleration, get a comfortable ride, get descent gas mileage, great brakes and handling, get the beemer!
I would suggest the acura, bmw is costly to maintain (my dad has one) acura is a good car and I figure the maintenance isn't as expensive.but if the cars have had proper maintenance you shouldn't be having problems with either and wouldnt be repairing often. Keep in mind parts for bmw will be more expensive than parts for acura.
I am not a bmw person so no comment for or against. I personally own a 06 acura tsx, bought new 11/06. It has almost 60,000 problem free miles. My mom owns a 08 honda accord v-6. It is not something I would want-I love manual transmission.
