All refer to light. Shines is strong as in the sun shines. Beam is a particular shaft of light as from a flashlight. Twinkle is not particularly strong and can be "fun" as in a twinkling eye or stars that twinkle. Flicker is a light that goes on and off. Glows is light that comes from an object itself as in a glow stick (not usually strong. Flash is light that is momentary or surprising. Sparkle is light that "sparks" or goes off and on quickly and suddenly. Can also be used to describe a happy personality. Glitters is light that comes from an object, reflects light rather than gives off it's own light.
