What is the physical appearance of a Cancer ascendant with Pushya nakshatra (pada 1)?
I've never looked like the typical description for cancer rising, and so I completely debunked the idea of astrology effecting the physical appearance and was simply a matter of genetics. I recently discovered the nakshatra in the lagna determines the physical appearance. I'm quite tall, slim with long limbs. I have balanced features and an angular face shape.
Do these physical features correspond with ascending nakshatra?
I have no planets in the 1st house.

These sign placement generalities are inconclusive and at times contradictory. There are many factors that determine the physical appearance. I for one, am also a Cancer Rising in Pushya nakshatra. I am a very short, petite female. Men and women will differ in many respects in terms of appearance. It is said that generally speaking, Cancer is medium height. The above commenter mentions long upper body and short lower body, again a very specific characteristic for a very broad and general sign placement. I for one have shorter upper torso and longer legs. I have a small mouth and my teeth are definitely not beautiful. There are many other important factors that contribute to physical appearance and constitution. The rising sign and its nakshatra, planets in lagna, the chart ruler, and the moon. Pushya lagna has pitta or fiery dosha, although its element is water. It ruling planet is Saturn. Saturn is vata dosha. These certainly influence physical constitution and appearance. A cancer ascendant has Moon as its ruler, so Moon sign, nakshatra and aspects directly affect physical appearance as well. Also, planets in the second house influence face, mouth, teeth, voice, and eyes. So planets in the second aspecting the chart ruler/Moon will very much influence appearance as well. Take for instance Angelina Jolie, she has Cancer Lagna with Pushya rising. She also has Venus in lagna very close in degree to the ascendant. She has no planets in the 2nd house but the lord of 2 is Sun in Taurus/Rohini. This is very strong Venus = beauty. The Moon is in Pisces with Mars and Jupiter. The Moon is in Uttarabhadrapada nakshatra which is ruled by Saturn. Saturn = Vata dosha. Her Saturn is placed in an air sign in her chart. Angelina has always had a vata constitution with her her long, thin and almost bony build - yet she still retained her fleshly, sensual appearance because of Cancer with strong Venus in lagna (also in Navamsa lagna).
