why do schools block proxies?
wouldn't students using proxies lessen the likelihood of the schools computer getting malware, spyware, or anything else (that I'm poorly informed about)? so why do they block them? I can never find pictures or often news articles that I need (I currently cannot procure enough pictures for a power point presentation that's due next Tuesday)
(I'm not very educated in this field, hence me asking... and a proxy for dummies answer may serve me best to be honest)

The school wants to control what websites students can visit (and hence prevent them from looking at porn, playing games, or downloading malware). Proxies allow a student to bypass the blocks so in turn they are blocked.
