Why is a college degree unnecessary?

I am writing a paper on why teenagers should not go to college
and any opinions about "Why is a college degree unnecessary?" would be extremely helpful!
Example: A college degree us unnecessary because many people cannot obtain a job with it.

The only way a college degree would be unnecessary is if the job seeker was either going to learn a trade or be employed in low-paying work. The reason it is hard to find a job with a college degree has nothing to do with college and everything to do with the current economic situation and how hard it is to find a job in general.
