Hey there. Me some mates have pluged up 2 xbox 360s to two separate Tvs and connected them with an Ethernet cable. Problem is they couldnt find each other when we tried to set up a system link game of Call of Duty 4.
Iv tried unplugging and replugging them.
It says something about a system LAN?
I know the game has a system link option.
I know the ethernet cable works as i use it for internet.
I tried phoning the xbox support line, but after 30mins i figured she knew less than me.
Can anybody please help?
Update:I got the ethernet cable thing with the xbox so thats not the problem

You can't use a standard ethernet cable - you need a cross over cable or one specifically marked for XBOX360 'System Link'
[Edit] - the Ethernet cable you got with the XBOX, is just that - an Ethernet cable, it's not an ethernet crossover cable which is what you need for system link...
If you just connect the 360s to each other, you need a cross over ethernet cable. The one that comes with the 360 is a standard cable and will only work if you connect both 360s through a hub/switch.
You also need to ensure that you both have the same version of the game. If one of you has been on live and has the latest version and the other one has the standard never updated shop version, you will not be able to play together.
I'm pretty sure you'd need to use a crossover cable to connect two separate devices like that.
make sure the cable is correct, there are two types, straight though and crossover... if its the cable that came with your system its correct, if not, i bet thats why... you can find out by looking at both ends together, google straight though and cross over cables.
