So i had this xbox elite since june of 2008, then today it just decided to freeze up in the middle of a movie. So i turn it off and on and freezes right as soon as i sign into xbox live. Waited a day unplugged, well rested, turned it on, signed on, browsed the dashboard and freezes yet again!! This time it froze and showed some wierd lines and different colors!! I havent tried the freeze test that xbox . com has but .. my question is: worst case scenario.. after trying the freeze test guide and nothing works, its not the red rings of death, i call microsoft to send it in, what will it cost me?? Is it still under warranty? I doubt it is since i bought in 08. Is it 110? Is it more since its the elite xbox.. if thats the case then i guess its worth it, but i heard when they inspect it if not showing the rrod they might charge me a different price! Blah!

Obviously u dont have the red ring yet, but it sounds to me like ur 360 is getting it (the internal processor is starting to break down and overheat easily)
- Im pretty sure the Red ring of death warranty lasts at least 3 years for any Xbox (the actual warranty only lasts a year, unless u bought the extended warranty)
- If u don't feel like waiting to see if ur Xbox actually gets the Red Ring, call up Microsoft and just go ahead and tell them ur Xbox has the Red Ring they'll ok and they'll tell u what to do from there to get it fixed! (but they'll fix it for free anyway even it doesn't have the Red Ring all u have to do is tell them it does, because they actually don't check to see if it really does)
- So if u do all that.. they'll fix ur Xbox for free and send it back (with a free one month Xbox live Card for ur troubles) ... pretty good deal right? XD
You can try and get microsoft to fix it...They might charge you
plug everything all the way
if that dont owrk
take everything out blow on it all
if that dont work ask microsoft
