Hi,
I'm planning on purchasing a BMW pretty soon, and I'm interested in the 3 series.
The 2006 BMW 325i is cheaper than the 2008 BMW 328i and I'm leaning more towards the 2006 because of that fact. Just wondering is there a major difference quality wise? I mean both would have about 70-80 thousand miles on them.

i don't mean to be rude, but charly brown is wrong. both cars have the same n52 engine with a different tune. the difference is just 15 horsepower, so it is rather minor.
the 328i is 7% more powerful than the 325i.
what i would be concerned about is that the 325i has a common issue of head bolts breaking off. it costs a couple hundred dollars to fix.
for me it would come down to the difference in price and how well the car has been treated.
they are both the same car with the same interior. the 328i will have some very minor differences, like slightly different radio and ac buttons in terms of color.
if you want to save money, you could get the 325i. you won't be missing out on anything major with the 328i. After 2006, bmw updated the 2 available engines from the 325i and the 330i to the 328i and 335i.
Just see which one is "cleaner" or has a better car fax, or costs less if that's a concern, or is the color you like.
if you included prices, it would be much easier to help you decide.
The 2006 325i is called "25" because it has a 2.5l 6-inline with 184 HPs, the 2008 328i is called "28" because it has a 3.0l 6-inline but detuned at 230 HPs.
So, +46 HPs on a car that weights mostly the same, makes a difference, how much difference? well, you can use a car performance simulator to find that, try at http://www.nxgtrsim.com/
They are kind of the same car. Both have the 3.0L inline 6, but the 325i is detuned a little (215hp vs 230hp). Don't know if that is just a BMW marketing thing, but if you drive both, I doubt you can tell the performance difference.
So, it gets down to the option each car has. If the option are the same then get the cheaper 325i
Was asking myself the same thing
