Recently, the window on my 2002 3.2TL has had a problem. The driver's side window rolled down, but then refused to function again. I assumed it would be the regulator or the motor, but I hooked them up to an external power source and it rolled up and down. From here, I assumed the master window switch must have went out, but I replaced this and it did not fix the problem. All windows worked fine on both the old and new switch, except for the driver's side window. Any thoughts? My only idea is that somewhere there is a faulty wire, but I'm unsure. If that is the case, how would I go about diagnosing which wire is in need of being replaced? Thanks in advance for the advice.

If the motor worked when you hooked it up to an external power source then it means the ground is probably faulty. Get the wiring diagram for that vehicle and replace the ground wire, making sure that you install it according to manufacturer specifications and that should complete the circuit for you.
