Factor, using slide and divide method.
Please show your work! && If you can't use the slide
& Divide method then try something else :)
12x² - 5x - 24
Update:24 is not the answer,
it is in FOIL format, right before you FOIL it, which I don't understand how yall got 24...
I'll show an example
Standard form:
Ax²+Bx+C
A=4 B=-11 C=-3
4x²-11x-3
Multiply A(C)
4(-3)
Which gets you
x²-11x-12
Factor that.
(x-12)(x+1)
Divide #s by A
(x-12/4)(x+1/4)
Reduce, If can't reduce anymore,
slide denominator (if you have one)
back in front of x.
(x-3)(4x+1)
I just can't figure out that problem I gave yall!!

i honestly couldnt figure it out and factoring problems is my favorite.
but heres a really good site telling you step by step how to slide and divide!
i hope you figure it out :)
ps all the other answers given are not right obviously. youre not looking for a single number.
youll be looking for something like this
__ (x +/- __) (x +/- __)
or its not solvable and you will have to use the quadratic equation to figure it out and the answer will look something like this: x=+/-__
sorry i couldnt help more!!
ok so i saw where u added onto your question.
and i did that for your problem.. and it comes out to
x^2 -5x-288
but you cant factor that,
so then you cant divide it all by 12.
so this must be unfactorable!!
24

It's not possible to factor this. You must use the quadratic equation...
