the height h(t) in ft of an object t seconds after it is propelled straighr up from the ground with an initial velocity of 85ft per second is modeled by h(t)= -16t^2+85t.

when h(t)) =-16t^2+85t = 50
just solve the quadratic and you get two solutions, first for the time when the object goes up, second for the time the object goes down
I'm not so sure about this cuz I am not so smart but isn't the equation something like h=vt-16t^2?
So it should be 50=85t-16t^2 50=t(85-16t)
t=0 or 85/16
so I think the answer is 5 5/16 sec.(?)
