Let x = no. of lbs of navy beans
17 - x = no. of lbs of pinto beans
9.25(x) + 6.25(17 - x) = 7.75(17)
9.25x + 106.25 - 6.25x = 131.75
9.25x - 6.25x = 131.75 - 106.25
3.00x = 25.5
x = 25.5/3.00 = 8.5 lbs of navy beans
17 - 8.5 = 8.5 lbs of pinto beans
